Motorola To Sell Droid As "Milestone" In Germany, Italy, And Argentina

A week after unveiling its much-anticipated handset, the Droid, Motorola (NYSE: MOT) is getting international attention for the Android 2.0 device. IDG News reports that the phone which has generated a number of favorable reviews, will be sold in Germany, Argentina and Italy as the “Milestone.” In Germany, two carriers—Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) and O2—have picked up the device, as well as mobile phone retailer The Phone House. No word on when it will go on sale, or which carriers in Argentina and Italy are selling the phone.

HTC, the white label phone maker, lest it upset its carrier customers, has stayed away from advertising its products. No more — as a company with ambitions to become a major player in the smartphone business, HTC recently unveiled a new campaign for its touchscreen smartphones, many of them powered by Google’s Android OS. These include devices such as Sprint Hero and T-Mobile’s myTouch. Google’s G1 and G2 are two other models rolled out by HTC in the market.
Three App-Makers Bring Marvel Comics To The iPhone In U.S.

A trio of iPhone app-makers have secured mobile rights to publish more than 70 Marvel (NYSE: MVL) comics. Titles include Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men series, Ed Brubaker’s Captain America, and other two X-Men series. The comics will be available for $2 each through In App Purchase with Comixology and Panelfly’s free apps, and 99-cents individually with iVerse. The apps are only available to U.S. users.
