Spotify's S60 App Gives It A Greater Shot At Carrier Deals

Spotify already previewed its in-development Symbian S60 app in September. Now it’s ready, giving the music service a much wider mobile footprint (Symbian runs half the world’s smartphones). Premium users can download the app themselves from m.spotify.com, but the real potential for Spotify is in carrier relationships. Pretty much all of them carry Nokia phones, and consumers - at least, in Europe - are still pretty likely to pick one of those over rivals.

WinBuyer Raises $6.9 Million For Online Retail App

WinBuyer an Israeli startup which makes a comparative pricing app for online retailers, has raised $6.9 million in a first round of funding. The round was led by Pitango Venture Capital. Giza Venture Capital also participated. With WinBuyer’s app, online retailers can show directly on product pages what the same item costs at other online outlets. The startup says consumers are more likely to go ahead and make a purchase if they can quickly see how an item’s pricing compares; if they do in fact head to another site, the merchant gets a referral fee.

Media Phone Plus Selects Dilithium

Dilithium, which provides mobile video infrastructure solutions, has revealed that the Kuwait operator, Media Phone Plus, has selected the company to expand its 3G mobile Value Added Service (VAS) offering, with the launch of a suite of multimedia services, providing fast, mobile access to rich video content such as Jukebox, Live TV and Video on Demand. The Dilithium solution combines DTG Multimedia Gateways with the ViVAS service creation and delivery platform.


Apple Re-Sellers Seeing Increasing iPhone Sales For Business

Apple re-sellers are seeing the iPhone gain momentum for business use, says FTN Equity Capital in its monthly Apple Consumer Reseller Survey.
This supports findings by TBI Research that iPhones are slowly starting to gain share of the enterprise market over RIM and Windows Mobile.
